Room Painting… ugh!
by RadMan on Aug.11, 2010, under Picture
Ya so, a little while ago we decided it was high time (like 3 years now) that we finally paint the master bedroom. There were 4 different wall colours from the previous owners, and frankly not only did it look ridiculous, but one of the colours just about made my eyes bleed. What the hell were they thinking. I’ll tell ‘ya, THEY WEREN’T!
Anyhoo, here are a series of shots that show the stages we went through:
A. Room is prepped but no paint has hit the walls yet, notice the different colour walls (Pink, Green, Beige and Pink-tinted White)
B. Primer coat/coats have been put on the walls. The pink walls required 2 coats of primer… ugh!
C. Now you’re seeing the final colour before we setup the room. MUCH BETTER!
D. Final Bedroom shot
Some walls ended up with a total of 3 coats of paint, and the pink ones got 5 coats! But it looks good. We went with “Mochachino” and are happy with the results. As well, for the first while we’ll have the crib next to our bed and have baby with us.
Thanks for looking!
When one has a little time on their hands…

… one gets projects done.
Couple of things I’ve been working on.
1. Workshop area. I’ve now finished the workbench and have substantially finished the workshop area. The idea is that tools will be hung on the backboard, the the 8 ft long table will give ample room to work on projects. As you can see from all the clutter, I’m still in the process of sorting and organizing.
2. Home Network. I got tired of having the network gear in the house all up in the office. I wanted everything that might need to communicate either with the internet or with the media server to be able to do so at full speed… so I wired the house and pretty much all the wires come to the storage room where the water heater is located. I’ve got the cable modem, router and additional network switch all connected and functional. All I’ve got to do now is finish restoring the drywall. I had to cut a few holes in the walls to run the network cable. All Cat5e.
Cheers!
