Next few posts…

by RadMan on Jun.10, 2009, under General

Hi folks,

Over the next few posts I will be posting info and pictures of photography equipment that I no longer require that I will be advertising for sale on Pentax Forums.

Don’t worry, this equipment I no longer use.

Cheers,

Going through old pics…

by RadMan on Jun.05, 2009, under Picture

I have (lately) been sorting through my older pictures, and run across these two. A couple of sunrises taken at different times while living in Sudbury, ON.

The first was taken one morning when I hit the road to head back from Timmins, after having visited my friend John. The misty morning helped bring out the rays from the sunlight.

The second was taken in the back area behind our apartement in Sudbury. I was impressed by the clarity of the air, and glint of the sunlight off the snow and ice.

These are not my most “technically” well shot pictures, obviously. I only had my Canon Point and Shoot, and hadn’t really taken the opportunity to develop my craft… I intend for that to change!!

A couple of shots…

by RadMan on Jun.04, 2009, under Picture

Hi there folks,

Decided it was time that I actually start using the photography blog for some photography! Over the next good while I will be putting up shots that I have both taken previously (and never got around to posting) as well as new stuff that comes down the pipe!

CAT ON LEDGE – One evening Christine and I were just looking out our patio door to the backyard, and happen to spot this cat… just relaxing casually up on the ledge of some stonework. It was sitting there, watching what was going on in people’s backyards enjoying the cool evening air. I quickly rushed to get my camera and this was the best shot.

SPIDER IN MIDAIR – One early morning I went out back to water the lawn before the sun came out for the day. When reaching down to turn the tap on, I encountered this little guy (he’s only about 7mm across at the legs) with his little web. I quickly grabbed my camera and the Sigma 100mm macro lens we have, stuck it all on a tripod and proceeded to get this shoot. I didn’t realize until now how difficult it can be to shoot macro for a subject when the subject is constantly moving. Also, his web was vibrating towards and away from the camera, and with such a narrow focus field… well… it was tough. This shot still required some cropping (even after using a 100mm lens at about 8 inches to 12 inches) but I’m happy with how the shot turned out. I find it interesting how he just seems to be hanging in mid-air without support!

CHRISTINE – I took this shoot while Chris was shooting out back. It probably seems like just another shot to most (cause it really is) but to me I enjoy capturing moments of my wife enjoy a hobby she’s recently jumped into. Simple… but being my blog I’m putting it up.

‘Til next time!

Thanks Tom!

by RadMan on May.02, 2009, under General

Well, it’s still going to take some getting used to. But, thanks to my ex-employee Tom I think I’ll be able to move away from Blogspot for my blog… and finally have something that I can call my own.

He gave me a few pointers on using WordPress.org and templates to get more serious with blogging. We’ll see how things go from here! BABY STEPS!

Hi folks,

I’m currently experimenting with WordPress to try to regain full control of my intelectual property.

Having some difficulty, so we’ll see how it goes.
